Local actor, Kirk Simpson, reprises his role as the Master of the Macabre, EdgarAllen Poe, in POE: Tales of Fear & Suspense, for six shows at Clay Hill Farm Restaurant kicking off with a SOLD OUT show on Monday, October 31st, at 6 p.m. Captivating audiences with his spooky-good dramatic readings, Poe (Simpson) hosts an annual unique and intimate dining experience with sinister storytelling that is not to be missed!In 2012, local actor, Kirk Simpson, joined forces with Clay Hill Farm Restaurant to create Clay Hill Farm Presentsā€¦, a monthly series of one-man shows with experiential dining, starring Simpson himself. At Clay Hill Farm Presentsā€¦ this season, Simpson takes the stage once again as Edgar A. Poe in Poe: Tales of Fear & Suspense, telling terrifying tales such as ā€œThe Tell-Tale Heartā€ and ā€œThe Cask of Amontillado,ā€ ā€œThe Raven,ā€ and more. As the audience sits mesmerized by Simpsonā€™s sometimes maniacal presence, a heart-beat pulsing in their ears, Simpson weaves in and out of the audience telling the story of that ā€˜ā€¦Vulture-eyed old manā€™ and the beating of his incessant heart, descending into madness with theatrical brilliance. ā€œI love to see the audiences faces as I tell this particular story,ā€ says Simpson. ā€œSeeing them squirm in their seats, especially while they enjoy exquisite fare such as Clay Hill Farmā€™s famous Prime-Rib while I weave a tale of pre-meditated murder... itā€™s fantastic.ā€

Having a well-established background in interactive theater, improvisation, theater and musical theater, Simpson has brought the likes of Edgar A. Poe, Charles Dickens, Robert Frost, Benjamin Franklin and many others to the Clay Hill Farm Restaurant ā€˜stageā€™. ā€œInteractive theater is my love!ā€ says Simpson. ā€œGetting off stage and into the audience creating imaginative and bold character choices that pull your audience into the story is so gratifying.ā€ Tickets are $25 per person, plus the cost of food and beverage. Simpson will continue at Clay Hill Farm in December of 2022 with Dinner with Dickens, an evening with Charles Dickens and his very special reading of ā€˜A Christmas Carolā€™, followed by Robert Frost: Fire & Ice in February 2023 and Ben Franklin in April.

Kirk Simpson started performing back in 1985 where he began his career in acting at the local Renaissance Faire in Largo, Florida, from there the next 36 years were filled with Renaissance Faires across the east coast, musical theater, theater, childrenā€™s theater, interactive themed events and so much more. Fresh from playing King Richard at King Richardā€™s Faire in Carver, MA, Simpson currently resides in South Berwick with his husband and family.
